T-Mobile HSPA+ compatibility

I'm confused. I thought to be fully compatible with T-Mobile's HSPA+ network you needed the 1700mhz band. I don't see that listed in the specs. Am I missing something?

The 1700mhz band was/is listed in the Nexus 4 specs...

That's WCDMA band 4, which their site lists both versions supporting.

So the band 4 listing covers HSPA+ in areas that haven't been refarmed?

I'm just trying to make sure it's straight in my head.

It will work with tmobile's HSPA + network, however from my experience the 1900Mhz band is not as fast as the old 1700Mhz band.

It's a major reason I'm going for the N5. compatibility wtih hspa 1700 1900 and lte for maximum speed.

I'm sticking with my Straight Talk T-Mobile SIM for now. I was getting the same speeds as my N4 today. Around 14Mbps down and 2Mbps up here. Will continue to test around town though. My friends with AT&T often get the same download speeds with LTE here.
