I feel T-Mobile should be at least halfway behind with the updates.. 9.0.1 is cool but OP already running 9.0.11 lol or is this just me 🤷🏾*♂️

I check every couple days and while I want an update idk why. My phone runs great so I would rather wait and hope they don't screw it up. At the same time, I hope we get the January security update by the end of the month or early next month.

Good point, mine is running fine, not sure why I would want or expect an update.

Yeah I had a pixel 2 and idk it just seemed like the updates broke stuff sometimes so I'm ok with like four a year especially when my phone is running phenomenally. Monthly updates just soured me on needing them. I think I have a better appreciation now for slower updates and making sure stuff works. Now that said I'd still like quarterly ones.

Version numbering between TMobile variant and global one are NOT the same. I read somewhere that TMobile 9.0.1 is probably more close to 9.0.6 or something.

This^. According to Oxygen updater app the T-Mobile version is running the equivalent of international version 9.0.5

Yeah! OxygenOS 9.0.5 seems about right for the last T-Mobile (USA) update, 9.0.1, to be largely based on.

Below are a couple of replies and a prediction that I posted on the OnePlus forum and may shed some light on the T-Mobile (USA) update process...

"The T-Mobile (USA) carrier minority variant will not receive this, OOS 9.0.11, release, per se but rather, as we have seen in the other 2 T-Mobile (USA) updates, a hybrid version that may contain elements from 9.0.6, 9.0.7 and, possibly, 9.0.10, 9.0.11 and will have to go through T-Mobile (USA) certification process first"

"The only 2 updates from T-Mobile (USA) each took about 2-3 weeks for their certification process after OnePlus had deemed the global firmware to be stable and then adapted it to T-Mobile (USA) spec's, i.e. removing dual SIM, Quick Launch, OnePlus Laboratory, Smart Boost, etc; etc; and then adapting the user interface for T-Mobile (USA).

The last T-Mobile (USA) update, 9.0.1, was about the 11th December last year and depending on which stock OnePlus update the next T-Mobile (USA) update is based on, I would guess sometime in the next 10 days so as to include the January 2019 Android Security patch as they are still on the old Nov: 2018 patch.

BOTTOM LINE: There was no reason on earth for T-Mobile (USA) to issue their own ersatz firmware other than to control it.
