Agreed, one of the reasons i went sprint, i still have tmobile, been a 'loyalty' customer for 7 years now.. at first the coverage was good because when id go up state and such if i were to roam id roam on AT&Ts towers, so service was A+ everwhere, then a few years back they ended that roaming agreement and now the service has taken a turn for the worse.
im located in milw, WI, the only 3G is in this area, if i go up 20 Miles north, no more 3G for the rest of the way, besides this, my service is horrid, i head up to sheboygan WI everday, and i know of atleast 6 spots where if im on the phone i lose the call as well as me often looking at my blackberry to check for emails and such and its randomly in SOS mode.. this is not phone dependent either..
with sprint i get full 3g all the way up my whole trip. been with sprint for less then a month and have only lost 1 call, during a severe storm we had..
one thing i can say is that sprints 3g is not as fast as tmobiles, but tmobiles area is small but fast, a speed test revealed (i still have them for proof) 4,000 DOWN for tmobile in my room, to sprints 1,200 down in the same spot... now that is significant, i still will take a better coverage area with a longer 3g area thats slower then a smaller 3g area with spotty coverage that is fast.
i say everyone, if u want a good price and support, check out sprint, u get the 30 days to opt out as well..
when speaking with a tmo rep, who recently took the same drive up HWY 43 into sheboygan, he brushed it off as yes, there are some very bad areas up that way, BUT you will get the same thing with any carrier you choose in that area...
i beg to differ, verizon or sprint both have excellent coverage in those areas and thats where CDMA out shines gsm.
