T9 Next Button

I've been using T9 and it usually works well. My problem is I can't find a "next" button like the 0 button was on a flip phone. What am I supposed to do if I type in the word, but it's not listed among the 3 words in the predictive text bar?

Keep typing until you've typed the entire word. Predictive text is kind of pasted onto T9 - it's not part of the original T9 design. (Just look at any 10 year old feature phone.)

But let's say I hot a combination of buttons that have 4 possible words that go with it. It only shows 3, so how am I supposed to scroll to get the 4th word?
