Does anyone know if it is possible to enter a tab character with the stock GS3 keyboard? I don't see anything on the keyboard but maybe I'm missing something. I like to use tabs in text notes to line things up. Thanks!

The closest thing I can find is what appears to be a 'hard space' character in SwiftKey <- You could use several of those to serve your purpose. Other than that I haven't seen the tab character in any 3rd party keyboard.

Try the Hacker keyboard in the Play Store. It replicates a PC keyboard. Terrific if you like to tap-type. (I prefer to Swype.)

the key on the top left side of keyboard that looks like two arrows pointing in opposite directions. Its the one that moves the sentence in several spaces to start a new paragraph

Tab, huh? In the U.S., when we were taught to type on a typewriter, we were taught to indent the first line of every new paragraph by five spaces. Therefore, we moved some little screwed down things to fast forward five spaces every time you hit the Tab key. We also used Tab to make primitive graphs, a Herculean feat on a typewriter.
