Tab S 10.5 price now below $396 on Amazon - does that mean updated model is just around the corner?

I was about the place an order for the Tab S 10.5 on Amazon. (ships and sold from Amazon, not 3rd party sellers who are usually crooks)

Amazon is currently offering a free $50 Amazon gift card with purchase. There's also an Amazon-exclusive promo code that knocks off another $50.(thanks to Slicksdeal thread) Shipping is free(2-day for me with Prime) and no sales tax. So, the final price is only $396.

Normally, I would just shut up and order at such great prices. However, it is Samsung. They have this nasty habit of release new tablets(even if only slightly updated) within a few short months of a supposedly-new tablet. The low prices just concerns a bit. With Thanksgiving and Christmas so close, is there any chance that they are coming out with some new tablet, so they had the retailers drop the price down to as low as $396 to prepare for it?

Just wondering..... I went ahead and ordered from Amazon for $396 anyway.... if I don't open it , I should be able to return it within 30 days. :)

Here's the original Slickdeals post:

Amazon codes:
'GALAXYS10' to receive a $50 discount on the Tab S 10.5
'GALAXYS8' to receive a $50 discount on the Tab S 8.4.

That's in addition to the existing $50 gift card offer.

No new tablets for the rest of this year, discount is because Best Buy is offering a $50 gift card with purchase. They need to compete

So Amazon is just matching Best Buy's $50 gift card deal and
then making the deal even sweeter by giving customers another
$50 off? What do they want to do? Kill Best Buy? :D :D :D

I feel somewhat ashamed... I've been playing with the Tab S at
my local store a few times. When I finally decided to order, I
went straight to Amazon's website. I mean, why turn down a better
price, right? (since Best Buy can't pricematch Amazon's own
$50 promo codes)

Best buy will price match amazon but it has to be new sold and shipped by amazon. They will match pretty much any Brick n mortar store and Amazon. I'm at BestBuy almost everyday so I know.

how does Best Buy match the no sales tax thing at Amazon? I live in one of the few remaining states that Amazon doesn't collect sales tax. :) (on a $500 tablet, that's a savings of more than $42.50)

So what? 16gb is a joke specially for Android and even more for samsung devices. 32gb > color preferences

I don't disagree with you. I have two offline paid navigation apps that take up 8.7gb of space alone. 16gb is definitely a joke. :) On my S5, it leaves just 1gb of available space. Fortunately, that's enough for me. I dump the other stuff on the 128gb MicroSDXC card(which is also completely full at the moment)

I have a thing for white phones. All my last few phones/tablets have been white. (S2, S3, Note II, Note 3, S5, and a couple of Samsung tablets, and now the Tab S 10.5, also in white) :D
