Tab S6 Samsung keyboard cover scratching S6 screen

[Android Central Question]

Within 4 days of getting the new Tab S6 I noticed that the Samsung keyboard cover scratched the screen near the top left and right corners of the screen, at the base of the screen about 12 mm/1/2 inch apart and in the vicinity of the K key. In the areas where the rubber protecting strips are, no issues were observed.
Anyone else had this issue?

I returned it to Samsung and they said the keyboard is faulty, which they will replace. I had to highlight that the screen was scratched and they agreedto replace the screen. Given that my unit was just a week old I asked for a replacement as I don't like the idea of unit being ripped apart and put back together. Will never be the same.
Will see what happens.

Welcome to Android Central! That's a bummer, but I'm glad they're replacing the screen as well!

These kinds of keyboards are always a potential risk -- it might not be the keys that are causing it, but little bits of grit that might be on the keyboard when you close it. I've had that happen on my Pixel C. Always make sure the entire keyboard surface is clear of grit or other debris before closing it up.

I got a tiny scratch. I have a glass screen protector now... nature of these cases. I should have planned ahead.

Thanks for the feedback. I am aware of this and the unit was not used much (brand new and I was traveling with 24 hr flight time and not used then) and in a clean environment, albeit in a computer bag. Maybe Samsung is right that it was the keyboard, faulty batch of material (rougher than usual).
I will get a screen protector, but I will still need to place a material protection on the keyboard as the protector will be scratched quickly too.
