So i watched probably like 10 reviews of both devices and im still torn

Which one would you suggest?

Only thing im not liking about the tab10 is the proprietary connector for all connections. Im buying a tablet mainly to browse and watch videos on my HDTV. so the HDMI functionnality is very important.

I have the Transformer, and if I had it to do over again, I'd still get the Transformer. I had a Samsung Fascinate, and really loved the SAMOLED. I miss it now that I have the DX2. But the Transformer has a really nice looking screen. Not as nice as the Tab, but nicer than the other Android tablets out there. Combine that with the ports you need, and you're all set.

Don't forget that the 10.1 doesn't even have an SD slot. So it you are looking to store movies on a card, you are out of luck.

So I'd save 100 bucks and buy the Transformer. Use the money you saved to pick up a quality HDMI cable.

I know what you mean about that Sony tablet. I'm going to look at the Samsung 8.9, but the Sony is a little smaller than the traditional 10.1" Android tablet. And it feels really light. I just wish it was 50 bucks less. I still can't see paying 500 bucks for an Android tablet.

The Samsung Tablet does have the availability of an SD card.. You need to buy the SD Card Adapter.. $19.95 they also have the USB adapter and an HDMI adapter.. or you can buy the "Media" hub... I am not sure of the cost of that.. but either of the adapter work very well to either upload or download/transfer data, pictures or video..

I bought a Asus Transformer and tryed it for a day and ended up returning it for the tab. The main reason I returned it was Asus changed the bootloader in the new model and it couldn't be rooted. I did like the transformer a lot and if I didnt need to root I would have kept it. The reason I needed root was so I could run Supercurio's Voodoo App. I just love high quality sound in my earbuds.

That being said, If you need root or like to flash Roms get the Samsung. Otherwise the Asus will do fine.

Had the Transformer (well 3 of them) for a month. Had to keep getting it exchanged due to horrible light bleeding, chassis issues, and got the GT10.1 when it was released. Haven't looked back since.

fczeuner is right, a co-worker of mine just bought the Eee Pad Transformer and bought it to work so I could root it for her...no luck. Other than that, the main thing to consider between both tabs is: portablity and aesthetics. First, when it comes to portability, the SGT 10.1 is the epitome of ultra-portablity, thin, sleek and superlight weight, it's second to none (only if you count that "other" tablet! :p) The Eee Pad is slightly larger widthwise and, noticable heaver but, with good cause: it has a whole slew of ports: USB, HDMI, SD slot, etc. The SGST 10.1 only has a 3.5mm headset jack and a propietery port which you can buy (at an extra cost) an adapter to plug in a USB drive, HDMI, SD card, etc.

This is were the aesthetics comes into play, by having the extra ports, the Eee Pad, in my personal opinion, loses some sexyness - conversely, by the SGT 10.1 not being bogged down with extra holes on it's side, it gains a sort of streamlined coolness that is only matched by that "other" tablet. Another thing of note when it comes to the aesthetics is that both SGST 10.1 models come in white and grey, the ASUS however, comes in a copper-esque, deep bronzish type of color which, quite frankly looks a little rough.

At the end of the day, I originally purchased a SGT 10.1 because I didn't really need all of the extra ports - HDMI? My phone and my camera can get hooked up to my HDTV. USB - I bought the SGT 10.1 peripheral to read my thumb drive. SD Card slot? Unfortunately, 32gb is all I'll ever have but, I think that's more than enough for my needs. If in fact you do want to expand, then the Transformer is the way to go. Also don't forget about the cool keyboard peripheral for the Transformer that doubles as a battery.

Yeah, it's a tough decision but ultimately, when you do pick one - you won't lose. As an owner of that "other" tablet & a SGT 10.1, I can say with full confidence that which ever one you get will eventually pay off for you and your needs.

I've had both. I returned the Asus because the GPS antennae had issues, and now I have the Samsung.

From a utilitarian standpoint, the Asus is the clear winner. If you get the keyboard, you can hook up all kinds of usb storage (FAT32 and NTFS). The keyboard has a really good touchpad. The screen is great. The price (even with keyboard) is great. Built-in micro sd is great (its like a free upgrade).

Having said that, it's a slab. If you want something that looks good, get the Sammy.

From just a pure web-surfing, music-listening, video-watching standpoint it's a toss up.
