fczeuner is right, a co-worker of mine just bought the Eee Pad Transformer and bought it to work so I could root it for her...no luck. Other than that, the main thing to consider between both tabs is: portablity and aesthetics. First, when it comes to portability, the SGT 10.1 is the epitome of ultra-portablity, thin, sleek and superlight weight, it's second to none (only if you count that "other" tablet!
) The Eee Pad is slightly larger widthwise and, noticable heaver but, with good cause: it has a whole slew of ports: USB, HDMI, SD slot, etc. The SGST 10.1 only has a 3.5mm headset jack and a propietery port which you can buy (at an extra cost) an adapter to plug in a USB drive, HDMI, SD card, etc.
This is were the aesthetics comes into play, by having the extra ports, the Eee Pad, in my personal opinion, loses some sexyness - conversely, by the SGT 10.1 not being bogged down with extra holes on it's side, it gains a sort of streamlined coolness that is only matched by that "other" tablet. Another thing of note when it comes to the aesthetics is that both SGST 10.1 models come in white and grey, the ASUS however, comes in a copper-esque, deep bronzish type of color which, quite frankly looks a little rough.
At the end of the day, I originally purchased a SGT 10.1 because I didn't really need all of the extra ports - HDMI? My phone and my camera can get hooked up to my HDTV. USB - I bought the SGT 10.1 peripheral to read my thumb drive. SD Card slot? Unfortunately, 32gb is all I'll ever have but, I think that's more than enough for my needs. If in fact you do want to expand, then the Transformer is the way to go. Also don't forget about the cool keyboard peripheral for the Transformer that doubles as a battery.
Yeah, it's a tough decision but ultimately, when you do pick one - you won't lose. As an owner of that "other" tablet & a SGT 10.1, I can say with full confidence that which ever one you get will eventually pay off for you and your needs.
