Android Central Question

I have a alcatel tablet pop 7 lte with 8 GB of internal storage, this isnt enough for what i need (a couple games, youtube, etc) and has been rather useless. i finally got a 16GB micro sd card to increase the internal storage but its ignoring the card(it is formatted as internal storage). for example, i have an app thats about 2GB and when i go into settings, storage, sd card, apps, the app is in there saying 2 GB but the storage section still says its only using 80 MB while the internal storage is filled to the brink with almost nothing inside it. can this be fixed or did i get ripped off?

I don't know what you did by formatting as internal, but have you gone into your file manager and move things to the micro SD?

when i inserted the sd card it asks you to format it, portable or internal. theres nothing to move, all the files are empty. and instead of 8 GB, its 4.7 GB. im guessing that the operating system and whatnot. right now im using 1.7 put of 3.7 GB

When you format it as internal storage, it's just added to the internal "sdcard", you won't see any extSDcard. You should see a total of around 24GB (adding used and unused storage).

If you don't, format the card as portable storage and see if the tablet recognizes it. (The card could be bad.)
