I got a Samsung tablet S7+, I use 3,5mm connector in ear headphones with a '3,5mm to USB-C' converter to watch media.

At random intervals, but always once within every 10mins my phone app opens with a pop up and minimizes & halts all the media I am watching/listening

Very annoying.

My previous headphones which worked perfectly died, with my current headphones (I own multiple) I have this problem.

I tried buying new in ear headphones, did not work.
Resetted tablet to factory settings, no result.
Denied access to phone app, now the tablet bugs me with constant popups that it can not connect to the phone app.

Anyone got the solution, if there is any?

Welcome to Android Central! Can you try a different 3.5 mm to USB-C dongle?

Do u see any prompt to update the ear phones when connected?

These are just simple wired ear phones. No smart buds.
I am beginning to think these earphones might have a built in mic that might trigger the pop ups.
Then again, it also happens when I dont't make any sound.

Can you show a picture of the one you use?

JVC HA-ECX20, with a 3,5mm connector.
I also got a similar Philips headphone, samme result.

The ones that broke was a unknown brand I had for years, these worked perfectly. But I don't know the brand, type so I don't know if I can buy the same again.

Have thought of bt headphones? MPOW on Amazon makes a decent set of headphones. They pair to my tablet easily and no annoying popups
