Tablet showing 2 lots of Internal Storage

Hi,

I'm hoping you guy could help me out.

My sister has a Cello 7 inch tablet, running on 4.1.2. It has 8gb of storage but after installing 2 or 3 apps, it told her that her storage was full.
I had a look at the storage option in the settings, and discovered that there are 2 storage options. There's her 8gb memory card, and 2 internal storage options. The first is only 700mb and all the apps are saving there. The 2nd is 5gb and we can't find a way to move anything. Its like a separate partition or something.

Have any of you experienced this before, and if so, is there a way to fix it?

For whatever reason, the OEM decided to partition the memory. As far as I know, I don't think this can be changed.

So should I email the manufacturer, because this memory is inaccessible. The tablet was advertised as 8gb storage

You can, but I don't know how far you will get. Also keep in mind the OS takes up about 4 GB. If you got it through a local retail store you might be able to return it if within the policy.

I understand that the OS takes up 3-4gb, but were talking about 7.3gb in total of inaccessible memory. It shows the memory as "available" too. I'll give them an email

Were you able to solve the problem without returning the tablet? I have a similar problem but with a different brand (Allwinner A31S)

Still waiting for a reply from the manufacturer. They seem to be dodging my emails
