Tablet won't see charger

I was reading on my tablet last night and got a message that the battery was getting low and to plug the charger in. I have 2 chargers plugged in beside my beg and plugged the aftermarket charger in because the cord is longer and it's easier to turn upside down and continue to read. Nothing. I tried and tried and my tablet would not see it. So, I unplugged my phone from my Samsung charger, which was charging fine and plugged the tablet in. It took several attempts of plugging in and unplugging, but finally showed that my tablet was charging. I continued to read for a while. When I finished reading, I unplugged my tablet and plugged my Droid phone into that same charger and left it to charge for the night. My phone fully charged over night with no problem. I tried to plugging my tablet back in to the Samsung charger this morning and it will not see the charger. I've tried this charger and the other charger. I've tried different wall outlets, nothing. Now my battery is dead and I don't know what to do to get it to charge or how I'll be able to tell if it is charging.

Any ideas??

I came back and tried again, plugging and unplugging. Now the tablet sees the charger and is charging. Do I have a plug problem in the tablet that's making it really finicky about getting plugged in? The tablet was a Christmas present, so only about 6 months old.

Did you let it discharge to nearly 0% ?
I've heard this particular tablet charges best when it's stil got a fair bit of life in it.
Also if a devices battery goes down to zero it can take a long time plugged in before it shows it charging.24 hours in some cases !

I notice that on my TabPro I have to use extra force to be sure that the charger is plugged all the way in. A little disconcerting. When I first got it, I had tendency to only plug it in partially until I figured it out. As long as the port itself isn't loose or pushed in you should be okay, I hope.

Nobody can give you a specific answer for many unknowns: adapter or USB cable or USB port or something else.
Follow these steps will help you to figure out which one is at fault:

Be aware that phone and tablet may not using the same charger, for example your tablet is 2 Amps adapter while your phone's adapter is 1 Amp. Reading the small print of output on the charger, you'll see the differences.
I guess your USB port is damaged or defective if you already use known working USB cable and adapter to test.
New USB flex cable is not expensive and easy to replace

Watch this video, instead of replace battery, you only need to remove 2 screws to replace the USB port flex cable
