Take off camera and video Shutter sounds

I have a HTC EVO V 4G and I have no idea how to turn off the shutter sounds. I don't know what people mean with deleting the file and stuff. I tried rebooting it but i got so confused so i just stopped. So I really need your help. It's kinda awkward taking picture in a quite place with a loud shutter sound. How do I turn off the noises. And it doesn't work when i put the sound of silent. I don't know what to do. Help please!

There is no option to turn of the sound in the settings for the camera? I find that hard to believe. Did you go into the settings while in the camera and look for a check box to enable/disable the shutter sound?
