I got sick of the bugs and freezes of lollipop so I've gone back to KK 4.4.2 and now everything is smooth and fine again.
If the UK ever decides to upgrade to a sensible version of lollipop, I might give it another try but until then - for me at any rate - it's a waste of space.

But did you do a full factory reset after the lollipop update? I gather most people have issues after android version updates, until they do a factory reset, after which the new version of android settles in properly and everything is the way it should be.

Yes I tried that.
It may have been due to reinstalling various apps, who knows but it all works fine on 4.4.2
