Android Central Question

Photo in my album, which I never took as I was driving home from work when it was supposedly taken.

Assuming it's a glitch in the cloud. But is it nefarious in nature?

Welcome to Android Central. There are any number of reasons for a photo to have an inaccurate time stamp the real questions are...

Is this an unfamiliar photo?

Do you recognize the subject or location? What is it a photo of?

What device do you have?

Do you have photo tools enabled like, double tap power button to capture, double tap to open camera or palm swipe to capture? With any of these features enabled there is a risk of taking unintended photos.

Not to be overly obvious but if the photo was triggered by an unintended action is it possible the photo could be from that time and day?

Sometimes accidentally pressing the Camera while in pocket or walking with it in your hand could of done it? Do others people have access to your phone? Friends or family taking pictures when you set your phone down this can happen even with lock screen

Welcome to Android Central! The photo could also be a cached image used by another app you installed. This is common -- if an app developer doesn't include a file called ".nomedia" in the directory where the app's images are saved, then those images will appear in the Gallery app along with all of your other photos. What directory is the actual image file saved to?
