I've been on a mission to find my wife wireless earbuds that fit her well and handle calls reasonably well. Just tried the Jabra Elite Active 75t, which got great reviews from most sites, but the call quality was total crap -- when she made a test call to me, it sounded really muffled and soft. In addition, the kinds of earbuds that you have to stick inside the ear canal never work that well for her -- they're either uncomfortably tight, or fall out easily.
I found the 1st gen Pixel Buds on Woot for $45 (new, not refurb), so I figured what the heck, I'll get them. I know she prefers the fit of the wired Pixel earbuds that come with the phone (because they rest outside the ear canal, rather than inside it, which is different from the 2020 Pixel Buds). If she doesn't like these, then I'll just use them. I'm already overflowing with Google products, what's one more?
I was a little worried about complaints that putting the buds in the case was a pain, since it required winding the cord in a complex way, but I saw a video where you can just let the cord hang out and it's fine.
