Taking better pictures indoors with the LG V20? How to get good exposures

I have watched youtube videos and tried various things but when I take pictures indoors, no matter the source of the lighting, or background, or with the flash off or on, I keep getting awful results. I'm taking pictures of various things using a white, or sometimes a black background, to list stuff on eBay. The problem is the pics are either way too dark, or a bit blurry, or they are washed out with too much light when the flash is used.

Any thoughts on how I can do better with this?

Any links to an especially good vid on this?

Thanks very much.

I second this. LG has a mediocre auto mode, but the manual controls are some of the best out there. It's not that hard to learn because it gives you a live preview of the changes you make and can also revert to a pseudo auto mode by turning the AE-L button off. Since these are still shots, it's not like time is of the essence and you can play around with it.

Also look into getting a tripod for it. Depending on your setup, either a full sized one with a phone attachment on top, or you can also find table top ones specifically for phones. In a pinch, you could also maybe prop the phone up on something if you can do so while also getting the right angle. Whatever the case, keeping the phone still (no hand holding) in low light is imperative to getting a crisp shot with no blur.
