Taking calls on the watch

I have the Watch 5 and Pixel 7 Pro. Is there a way to answer calls with the watch and have the audio go through my connected earbuds instead of the watch? I know I can use the gestures on my earbuds to accept calls but I don't because I can't see who's calling unless I look at my watch first. Is there a setting in the Galaxy Wearable app that I'm missing?

You could always look at who's calling on your watch, then answer with your earbuds... I know you have to move your arm another 15cm, but I believe in you! You could also turn on "announce caller names" on your earbuds so they tell you who's calling.

When my watch is in standalone mode, it will route call audio through my connected Galaxy Buds (if they are connected, of course). When my watch is connected to my phone, if I answer on my watch and my buds are connected to my phone, the audio is routed to the buds (via my phone).

I think this should work out of the box. Is this not happening with your watch?
