Taking pictures blurry?

Just got a new G4. When I use the camera app to look at things, it is very clear. However when I take a picture then look at the picture, it becomes more blurry. Is there any setting I can choose to retain the picture quality after taking the picture?

First things first--you're sure that any plastic protective film has been removed from the lens, right?

How are you looking at the photos--using the stock Gallery app, or the Google Photos app? I've found that sometimes, the Google Photos app shows temporarily blurry photos--you may have to wait a few seconds for it to reach full resolution. I think this is because Google Photos might be showing you a cloud version of your photo (if you have Auto Backup turned on), which might not load up in full resolution immediately.

I've taken the occasional picture that's over 12MB in size! That's large for any phone. So it's normal, in my opinion, that it's blurry for the first second or 2. Depending on the detail of the actual picture itself.

Its normal for a picture you took, which has a lot of detail, to look a it blurred when in thumbnail view, or even for a second or two while viewing the picture itself using the gallery app.
After a second or two you will notice it shows the detail. This is just how it works, and is not a problem with the picture itself.
Different gallery app might work differently. I personally do not mind it does not show all the detail the first second I view it.

If you mean the whole picture itself is blurry, it might have to do with the settings or the camera? Show us an example.
