taking pictures with the AT&T Galaxy Note 2

Pick up a Canon S95 on the cheap. You will be blown away at how good this point and shoot is. Having said that, if I was going on such a trip, I would lug my DSLR. Camera phones are good in a pinch but are no match for a good point and shoot or any DSLR. Look at the Nikon D3000 kit for a cheap excellent DSLR. Have fun on your trip.

They aren't dslr quality but if you play with the settings, for a phone they aren't too bad. One thing I constantly have to do is clean the lens before taking pictures. On mine for a second I was getting blurry photos also.

I don't know what the issue is, then. Maybe a shaky hand? I take pictures of my four-year-old who can't seem to stand still and they don't turn out blurry 100% of the time like you claim yours always do...

It sounds like you've never had an iPhone to compare it too ;) What settings do you use then?

I moved over from an iPhone 4S and have had nothing but iPhones since the 3G, through multiple upgrades and iOS changes. This is my first Andriod  it may also be that I can SEE so much more of the picture with my Note 2 screen. I take around 30-50 pictures daily and I find the camera in this phone to be very good.

This is a good overview of the options: Found Here

100% of the photos I've taken are blurry too... I've tried the focus thingy and what not, if it's a movement issue then I am pretty sure I need a tripod lol

Hmmmm, I have no such issues unless there was movement by me or the object. Lens dirty, shutter speed set to slow? Try the front facing and see if you have the same results.

You know the breath trick? Frame your picture and let the camera try to focus. Try not to move it out of position while you press your elbows lightly into your sides. Take a deep breath. Let about half of the air out but hold the rest so you don't have to breathe while you hit the shutter. I have shaky hands and sometimes this trick makes me conscious enough of my micro - movements that I keep the camera still. My dedicated camera has image stabilization, and which is the best. So do my binoculars. I can't wait until hard - core image stabilization comes to the high-end phones. The Nokia Lumia(?) already has it.

Speaking of image stabilization, have anyone used the Anti Shake feature? Does it actually do anything? I have yet to see any difference with it On or Off.
