I have been holding off on getting a new cell because nothing really caught my attention,

I have the Razr Maxx and it has been a good fit. I have the unlimited plan and cringed and ran for cover every time verizon (my employer) tried to wrestle my unlimited from me. I went to purchase the Note 2 several times but always walked away. I saw specs/pictures of the Note 3 and there was no hesitation......this is the phone I have been waiting for...should get me through the next few years.....2 at least :D

This is scary for me....seems like I am addicted to some type of drug??? I keep checking for ANY new information a few times a day as I wait impatiently for my preordered Note 3.

I normally wait for phones to come out wait to see what issues people have and how long it takes to resolve then go buy it once all the hype dies down.

I'm in the same boat. I've been eligible for an upgrade since July and while my Razr is still running okay, I'm ready for something new. I've looked at the Note 2 no less than 5 times at my local Best Buy store with each time promising myself that I pull the trigger. But thankfully I was able to hold off and I can't wait to finally get my hands on this thing once it releases.

Same boat here, been sitting on my upgrade since July. This device cannot get in my hands fast enough. My Razr Maxx has become slow and buggy

I love the look of the Note 3, I see some say they do not get cases?

For me it's first priority after picking it up! I tried explaining that last year to coworker who had just become an apple owner, he thought it looked too nice for case, he dropped it broke the screen after 10days, got his feelings hurt when his only option was to pay to have apple repair glass or purchase new one at full price, he purchased a hideous looking case that he keeps it in now!

I will stick with the classic black combo unit that vzw sells until I can find something I like online, I like cases that do not add bulk or weight to my cell. I have seen people with ottorbox cases, to each his own but those are not for me................

I hear ya, but who knows what Note4 brings at the next year ? I think I cannot promise more than 1 year ;)

The Note 3 wil be the first device I've purchased at launch and only my 3rd smartphone. I started with Droid Eris 3.5 years ago then to my current Thunderbolt about 21 months ago. This Note 3 will seem like a dream to me.

Well, the Note 3 is gonna be a whole new and unique type of sliq. An awesome the likes of which we have never seen before. It will be the phone that others phones run and hide from yet aspire to be. It will be...The Answer.

Ill be happy to have something that should theoretically operate at high level for a full 2 years. I'm pretty stoked.

It is "My" answer for when I get stuck working a Sunday and need a football fix. That screen along with my Slingbox will keep me happy all day. Wait, does this mean I can actually watch my shows on the HD channels with the Galaxy Note 3?? I could not use the HD channels on the Razr Maxx, could not handle the load.

Re: Taking the Note 3 after handing off on the Note 2 to my son

I bought Note 2 upon release. I thought that it would be the last phone I would ever buy. Boy, was I wrong. The Note 3 is so much superior to Note 2. Do I need it? No... I've decided that life is too short to deny myself of one of life's little pleasures. Now, it could be argued that $700 per year is ridiculous for the latest and greatest device, but that's less than $2 per day, about the cost of 7 cigarettes. Since I don't smoke, and I can always resell the Note 2 for about $400. on Craigslist, or just hand it down to a needy family member, I've decided that I'm probably going to buy the Note 3 this year and still buy the Note 4 next year.

Some people play golf, drink beer, smoke cigarettes, shop for new shoes, or trade in cars every other year... O.K. .... I fall into the tech-junkie category, but it happens to be one of my few enjoyments. So for all of you people that can't justify a new phone because your BlackBerry is not dead....yet, .....life is passing you by.

You need not justify the purchase to us. We understand. I'm a gadget junky myself.

...and most importantly...

I held off on the Note 2, but I'm getting the Note 3 as soon as my upgrade arrives. I wanted the Note 2, but that $300 price tag just seemed too high for something that I'd replace in a couple of years. I also felt like there was a steep learning curve with the Note 2. I was afraid that I wouldn't really take enough advantage of the S-pen. With the Note 3, it seems like they've updated the software to make some of the S-pen features easier to learn.

Yes welcome! And as just said, anyone reading these forums is most likely a tech junkie themselves, since this phone is not even out yet!

I couldn't agree more. And thankfully, my wife doesn't have huge issues with my tech addictions. ...probably because she sees her girlfriend's husbands out at bars or gambling, haha.

Not sure it's a good thing that your wife sees her girlfriend's husbands out at bars....

To be very honest(Hoping I don't get flamed)...When the very first Note and even the Note 2 came out I ridiculed at that thing being so huge and bulky. But, technology has changed and so have the needs. And Apple just refuses to produce a bigger phone, so here I am. Black Note 3 on pre-order from T-Mobile.

Technology has changed and so have I, when the note came out I liked it the concept but not enough to purchase one, when the note 2 came out it caught my attention. I went to look at it and compare it to my phone on several occasions. I went to purchase it several times but always walked away. The note 3 with all of its 3 gigs of ram and multi tasking screen and snap dragon, etc.................Samsung...............you had me at ,,.... 5.7 inch screen.

I have friends that think it is going to be too big, but that is one the of features that caught my attention!
