Have been noticing that my battery is getting very hot during phone calls. Not just warm... I mean really hot. Today I was on a call with a customer for about 40 minutes... ended the call and put the phone down. Picked it up about 30 minutes later and the phone was still pretty warm. Went to bring it out of rest mode and the phone totally locked up. I mean frozen like an ice cube! I couldn't unlock the screen for at least 5 minutes and then I couldn't switch between screens. The icons would not respond and when I did get to the menu... the icons started jumping all over the place... it was totally nuts. This thing was totally french fried.
I called T-Mobile Customer Loyalty since I have been a customer for over 7 years. Found out that the stores can no longer take defective phones back directly. The CS Rep did everything she could... we did a hardware reset (made no difference)... she had me check the moisture sensative dot under the battery (nothing unusual) and so on and so on. The bottom line is that the phone simply fried.
I do have the useless insurance... but that is only good if I actually mess the phone up myself... it doesn't help if it craps out by itself. (What a joke that is!) They are sending a replacement... she said that at this point it will 99% sure be a new phone not a refurbashed one. But who really cares... I have an upgrade due in Novemeber and will go with a dual-core phone so what ever I get will be around only 5months anyway. But it is to bad that a well made phone like this can simply crap out without any known reason. The only thing they can come up with is that the battery was overheating and fried the chip. Oh well!!
