Talk and Navigate with Google Maps

How is this done? Every time I leave the maps app I get NO notifications of upcoming turns. I can't use voice notifications cause, hello...., I'm on the phone. Lol. How could Google botch this so badly?

Ya that's my issue. I can't be on a business call with Google navigation yapping in my ear.

I can't mute it because in dial mode, or any other app, there's no notification banners.

Why not just exit navigation and finish your call?

Because I'm actively relying on turn by turn directions.

I don't understand how there aren't a lot of others who have this issue. The iPhone is short in almost every way, in comparison to this s6, but Google navigation is totally dialed with the banner notifications and auto mute while on a call.

I just don't see how it's possible these features are lacking on a Google / Samsung phone.
