Talking on the phone and receiving text, email, etc

I have a Galaxy J3 Emerge. I can not receive text, email, or anything concerning the internet during a phone call. Is there something I can change in my settings, choose a different plan, or is it something I'm just going to have to deal with? If is the later, is there a boost mobile phone that can accommodate this for me?

Welcome to Android Central! It doesn't look like Boost offers simultaneous voice and data: https://community.boostmobile.com/t...-talk-on-the-phone-at-the-same-time/td-p/1661 You'd need use wi-fi calling, or consider a different carrier.
