Tap to configure WiFi?

So I just picked up my Note 4 and I'm loving it but I keep seeing this weird 'issue?' with the wifi. After connecting to a wifi (and entering the password if necessary) it creates a notification in my drop down menu which says "Connected to 'example_WiFi" Ope... Tap to configure WiFi". I don't really want that notification in my drop down menu and even when I tap it there are not settings for me to configure it just takes me to my WiFi settings. Anyone know what this is all about?

I'm on Verizon if that matters.

When it takes you to the wi-fi settings, what happens if you select that network and go through some of its settings, then exit the settings menu? Does that notification still remain?

It does go away after I tap it, but it always seems to come back after a time or maybe after I reconnect to the hotspot. I should also point out that when in settings if I tap that WiFi node there isn't anything to configure it's just the basic 'Cancel', 'Edit (password)', or 'Forget".

I just switched from the Sprint N4 to the AT&T N4. Sprint's version did not have this slightly annoying and constant notification. AT&T does. I guess it's carrier specific.

I believe that that notification is for networks that require a login after connecting. Such as hotels that want you to agree to terms of use before allowing any activity. What triggers it and when it a mystery to me.

Its not WiFi login, it just says WiFi connected.

Sorry for the late reply, yes it is with any and all wifi networks that it connects to (at least the ones that I have saved and connect to regularly)

Correct, all of my saved wifi networks secure and unsecure.

i have the S5 and this has been bothering me as well. the best way to fix that, as far as i can tell, is to access the advanced wifi settings and uncheck the box for "wi-fi notifications." the only drawback, and it's a minor one to me, is that you will not be notified when a wifi network is available.

on the (verizon) S5, you get to that box by going to...settings>wifi>3 dots/menu at top right>advanced
