Tap to dial number from web page

Sorry if this is an existing thread but I can't seem to find an answer or posting here. I just moved to the S5 from a Razr Maxx HD. On the Razr, I was able to tap a phone number in a web page, or email (not a linked phone number) and it would bring up the dialer with that number. I can't do that on the S5. I found one thread saying it could be done and another saying Apple had sued to prevent this tech on the Android platform. Is there a cut and dried answer, or an app that will allow it? I'm using the Chrome browser.
