Tapatalk Pro 'retired' today. App continues.

No biggie, so no panic needed.

I went to check on the Play Store if the mega loads of emoji's/emoticons I recently found (and love to use) were also on the free version.
So a notice in the Tapatalk Pro page has warned prior that the Pro would be retired on 16th of May, and no refunds after then.
Seems the only difference I paid for in the Pro was multiple image uploads (in 1 post?), and omitting the Tapatalk logo on inages.

What happens from now on the only Tapatalk version, ie will the Pro benefits be free to all? Will Pro users be downgraded, or carry on the same?
Maybe someone knows already, otherwise let's see tomorrow.

Did everyone know this except me? Possibly.

If you were logged into Pro with a Tapatalk ID recently they switched you to VIP status in the free version, unlocking some pro like features.

Direct from our friends at Tapatalk:

Tapatalk Pro features will be rolled up into individual Tapatalk ID accounts. This means anyone who purchased Tapatalk Pro will have their Tapatalk ID accounts upgraded to VIP status. This way Pro users retain the core Tapatalk Pro features while using the free app while free users will operate normally like before.

This process may take some time as we are making sure to enable VIP status for as many Pro users as possible on the 1st pass through so the pro app's retirement has been extended to May 31st. After that date pro users can still access VIP status they're entitled to, but they just need to make a Tapatalk ID and update to the latest version of the app so our system can find them.

Same advice goes for Pro users who want VIP status sooner rather than later.

Thanks a lot. I am finally a VIP.
I guess everyone on the older Tapatalk will have an ID.
They have new blue highlighting in some areas and for a 'new topic', but it could be the same for everyone.
I will keep an eye after the 31st. My uploads have not reverted to having the logo, so this should remain the same, great!

I went pro 2 or so years ago and though I use the application extensively, each release requires a followup. Here is to looking for a substantial update.
