Task manager says youtube is running after I turn my phone on

I have a Samsung galaxy s3. I've had for about a month and a half now. I'm realizing that every time I turn off my phone to charge and I turn it on when its finished, and I use it to call or text someone, I go to the task manager an hour or two later and it says youtube is running. I don't even use youtube because it uses a lot of my data and I get charged. Is there a way to stop youtube from running after I turn my phone on?

I don?t know why YouTube is automatically loading up (phone feature maybe?, no idea as I don?t have an S3), but just by being there it?s not eating up your data until you start watching vids.

If you genuinely don?t use/want it, then disable it (go in to your app settings for YouTube, uninstall updates then you can disable it and it'll never bother you again).

Not related, but I'm wondering why you turn your phone off to charge it. There's really no need to do so.

A portable device should be turned off while charging. This allows the battery to reach the threshold voltage unhindered and reflects the correct saturation current responsible to terminate the charge. A parasitic load confuses the charger

Perhaps she's been following the advice which I've pulled from the bottom of here.... Charging Lithium-Ion Batteries

Frankly, I think that's BS. Hundreds of millions of phones, tablets, computers, and other devices are being charged every day while turned on. You can run software on your phone that monitors the battery charge and see that the phone charges to 100% properly, even if plugged in.

My comment was made rather tongue-in-cheek to the OP as most average users probably haven?t delved in to battery technology or the best ways to look after them.

Of course you can charge with the device switched on, but the whole point of the complete article is concerned with looking after your battery to maximise it?s performance and to prolong it?s working life. There are other things to consider as well of course (heat being the most noteable), but I was merely responding to the specific comment in my usual throw away style! (by the way, I leave my phone switched on when charging!)

I never used to concern myself too much with battery performance or their working life as all of my previous phones had replaceable batteries (as with the S3) and I always had a fully charged spare with me at all times so this was never an issue. However, as I now have a sealed device this is no longer an option so I do like to get at least some of the charging basics right when I can.

Hi, all, refreshing the thread, led to by my Google search... I've just noticed this the past few months on my Galaxy Note 2 and Tab 4 ... I close all running programs, but YouTube is still running on my task manager, but I don't use YouTube at all ....intentionally anyway.
