Task Manager screen, how can I customize it?

Are there any options for customizing my Task Manager screen? Before Marshmallow update, this screen worked in a smooth scrolling up and down, allowing me to easily switch between active apps or swipe to the right to close. Now, the up and down scrolling seems to conform to a set space for each app. Its not a smooth scroll anymore and is rather difficult to get it to stop on the chosen app, resulting in constantly selecting the wrong one to switch to. Also, the swipe to close option, while still existant, does not work as easily. I'm finding that most of the time when I try swiping, it instead scrolls through the running apps, rather than closing the selected one.

I use this tablet mainly for work and I have to constantly swtich back and forth between several apps. These problems are really slowing down my work speed and not to mention, are extremely frustrating considering how easily it worked before the update.

Welcome to Android Central! Which tablet? The Recent Apps list is part of the system, so I imagine you'd have to root the device and use something like Xposed Framework to try to change that (if possible).
