TB coming in two days, any tips?

I am coming over from a Droid X, that I have rooted and rom'ed out. After lurking over the forums for a couple of weeks, I pulled the trigger on an upgrade (got my NE2-$230 for a 1 year contract) and I got my shipping confirmation today.

So what do you all suggest that I look for right out of the box? Is the GPS still an issue? Bump charge the battery for the first week? Anything else I need to look at?

Thanks in advance, I don't have and won't have LTE for a good year, I just wanted in on a 1 year contract to lock in unlimited data and other things before VZW takes them away.

After a few days of owning the tbolt i bump charged it 2 or 3 times and it seriously helped with battery life - at least, it appears taht way. it might have just broken itself in the hard way if i never did it but .... who knows.

I have never bump charged since then, tho, bc i dont want to mess up the battery life and get a new one (stock battery).

Gps is not an issue, except when i was driving to atlantic city a few weeks ago if i lost connection to the signal, i had to back out of my nav session and re-enter the name of the place i was going to, which can be a pain while driving.

There is now the gps fix that comes with das bamf rom, and can also just be flashed (see thread that upstreammiami posted). I believe this fix just helps you get a lock faster but i'm not 100 percent sure.

And lte is awesome. You should travel and chekc it out once you get your phone running.

Yes dat battery is GOD and yep do not drop it I did and on my 3rd drop d volume rocker got jammed and whoop had to get a new one so make sure u have insurance just in case

I just got the TB today, and I am very happy with it. Thanks for the tips! I am thinking of getting the battery while I have a couple of bucks, and that 25% discount.

Decided to not root it, between ADW EX and the free tethering, I don't need to root right now.


I do kinda miss GB on the DX, but I will get over it.

I have had my Tbolt for just over a week and have Bumped Charged my battery. With normal use, I now get around 10 hours. I called Verizon today regarding a billing issue for another account. After that issue was settled, I let the Cust.Serv.Rep(CSR) know how unhappy I was with my Tbolt battery life. The CSR apologized and offered to sale me the extended battery for 50% off...
Although the bump charging has resolved my battery issue, I jumped all over the $24 extended battery... Worth a try for those interested...
