I bought mine from koodo using it with Telus. Nada. I didn't even get security patch for August. Something is amiss.

Must be a Telus issue. I've just received by essential phone unlocked using T Mobile sim in the US. Pie updated today from 8.1.

still nothing from telus. I had a old att sim from a us prepaid phone. rebooted phone with the att sim and got the update notifications instantly.
