Temperature on notification bar?

I've seen some people that have the temperature showing on the top of the status bar. Do you have to be rooted or is there a app or setting for this?

I use accuweather. not a fan of weatherbug.

Try 1weather. Just downloaded today and it has temperature in the status bar

I use eye in the sky weather. It's a minimalistic style app in case you're interested.

I've tried all those and must say that I like the minimalistic look of 1Weather and the ability to share a screen shot from weather bug elite without having to root your device(unless of course your device already supports the feature).

Just tried 1weather...big win.it's smaller than the others, snappy, pretty, and best of all accurate. Big win...thanks to those who recommended it.

Is it bad that I first thought the OP wanted his phone's battery temperature in the status bar rather than the outside/weather temperature?

I've always used My-Cast Weather and it does that too. It's not free but in my opinion the best weather app I've ever used.

Most weather apps have an option in settings to show temperature in status bar.

Having said that, the app I use, transparent weather clock, recently stopped showing the temp in my status bar despite it being activated. What?!
And my clock timer no longer shows how much time is left... What?!
Androids are annoying at times.!
