Just wondering if a recovery can be installed through termanal emulator?

I'm pretty sure you can. Just type in:

Code:
su
flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img

You'll need a copy of flash_image in /system/bin with the permissions set to "rwxr-xr-x", which should be there with most custom roms.

Rename your recovery image to "recovery.img" and place it in the root of your micro sd card before running the command.

It would be really nice if we can get rom updates and tweeks through terminal emulator for our phone. I think that would be awsome. But I'm sure in time it will happen. I understand the phones are pretty new and it takes time.

Should add this or get steps rewritten and added to that awesome ref sheet.

I just need to find a keyboard app that i like that doesn't eat the whole screen for my terminal.

These keyboards were not made for coding, that is for sure. If I could strangle a keyboard button, it would be the backspace button. I want to carelessly type an "m" for once, dan it!

Tell me about it lol. Does our phones and custom roms support wireless tethering?

If you use Quick Settings, you can enable wifi with most 2.2 roms.
No need for an app.

You just need to go into the options and move wifi hotspot into the upper section to use it.

Thanks LeslieAnn. That's one thing I missed comming from OS to OV.

Awsome job. Did it last night I was on clockwork recovery testing out CM7 and found my phone didn't like it too well and was waiting for the fix to Harmonica. Now I'm back to xionia recovery and loving Harmomica. This would be a good rom to do like some kind of update through terminal emulator. I don't know what would be involved in making it possible but it would help with the fixes and rom updates and such just a thought.

It's actually HarmoNIA, like harmony.
Harmonia was Aphrodite's daughter.

Adding a system like would add bulk.
The Aphrodite line is a rom you build on top of, so no extra apps, or anything that will increase the size or be problematic for anyone. It's very basic froyo, leaving you the maximum room to add your own look and apps.

More importantly though, I'm not a programmer and a relatively poor excuse for a dev. LOL

I understand and sorry it was a typo mind thinks faster then my fingers lol. Figured it would take a lot of work just wasn't sure. Like a said just a thought lol. Now if I could learn to do what the devs are doing to get a rom up and or ported id be doing good.

Curious...my terminal emulator shows me the $ instead of # but obviously I have root. Is there a setting somewhere I'm missing or just need a diff emulator or program installed improperly?

Nvm, sorry for the noob question. Was forgetting to type su first. Now have the # sign. :)
