Terrible battery life?

Well i took it off the charger this morning at about 640am. It is now 8am battery like is at 87%. Yesterday i had it off the charger for about 3 hours and was about 48% with use of course. i am rooted and even used the stripped down version.

I would consider flashing the stock rooted image for now. Last I heard on Rootz the slimmed down one was still a bit buggy and it may be something with that causing you to get weird battery drains. Would you be able to post screen shots of battery info like screen on time and other things consuming battery?

Screen 33%
Cell Standby -16%
Android 8%
Android system 3%
Device idle 2%
But i have had it on the charger. But i think you might be right about the slimmed down version.

I am stock and this has been the best LTE android phone I have used as far as battery life goes. I leave 4G on most of the time and dont use any power saving apps. Yesterday was day two and I had it off the charger for 14hrs with almost 3hrs of screen time, two hours of pandora streaming, used GPS on Map My Run for an hour, web browsing and texts and still had 30% left when I plugged it in when I went to bed. I could not be happier with the battery life so far.

32 mins of screen time should be about 87%, seems normal
hmm idk seems my thunderbolt was getting way better battery life then im getting from this phone. normally i would unplug my thunderbolt at 630 and by 8am when im at work its at 98 or 95%

I have noticed that this phone, so far, is great in 4g and HORRIBLE in 3g. I can't imagine anyone turning 4G off in favor of 3g. When my phone falls back to 3g due to weak signal, it goes super slow and gets blazing hot, and the battery drops like a rock. I left it in 4g mode with wifi off overnight yesterday, and the battery hardly dropped.

As far as the rooted/nonstock roms go, i have seen some commentary about "mysterious battery drain" from some different people so there might be some things in the rom that are broken. If I were you, I would go back to fully stock (maybe not even root it) and see if your daily use is better.

Why is my cell stand by so high?

I'd like to know as well, mine is 43%.

Today I'm at 75% battery after 4h 44m, with only 11 *minutes* of screen time!

Ironically for Verizon, the locked bootloader makes it *more* likely I will return this phone for a replacement, on my Thunderbolt custom ROMs and kernels helped battery life tremendously over stock. Not with this thing (at the moment anyway).

I believer that it is normal for this phone for some reason. I have looked at mine, my girlfriends, my mothers and a couple of my friends GS3s and they all have Cell Standby time as the highest on their battery consuming list. It doesn't consume battery that quick, compared to the numbers. I think that is what drains the batter when nothing else is active. There has to be something running on the phone otherwise it would be off. I find that it would be better to see Cell Standby than Android OS/System because that would lead me to believer there is a rogue app or something wrong with the actual OS.

Theres a fix for the cell standby. Its not actually using that much battery, its just calculated wrong.

I've been very pleased about the battery life so far. (It's only been two days, though.) Right now, I've had mine off charger for 19 hours (including 3:30 hours of screen time) and I'm at 18%.

That's with 4g, GPS, and Bluetooth on; wi-fi, NFC, and S-voice screen lock listening off. I've also disabled most of the Verizon apps.

Much better than I was getting with my Fascinate.

My battery life is terrible too. I honestly think it's the root that has a bug or something cause with not even 2 hours of screen time I'm down to 46%

Thats pretty good if its cell coverage and not wifi. Anything more than 3.5 hours screen on and I am very happy. With Wifi on you can expect a nice bump on those numbers.

Yeah, I had a thunderbolt too on a custom Rom/Kernel (which we BETTER get on this phone.. sometime) with the Rezound battery. It would stay at 100% sometimes for 3-4 hours before going to 99, but eventually it would start draining more at a normal rate. I hope we can get this unlocked and some custom kernels to help with battery even more. I'm on powersaver and turned 4g off to use 3g and am at 75% after 7 hours off the charger with 39 min screen on time. Cell standby is using the most, but that might be the bug.

sorry this is the only shot i took. but the screen sucked more juice then anything. it was a mix of wifi 3g and 4glte but hell my phone is beast non the less. it did drain fast from 100-80% in the AM driving to work. wonder if it was because of 3g/4g change off. At my house i get shotty 4g untill i leave my room.
