Terrible call quality from earpiece speaker?

Hello everyone!

I bought an S6 edge+ 2 months ago, and since day one, something appeared to be wrong with the voice quality during some calls. To be fair, this issue only comes up a few times a day but it is such a pain!

Out of nowhere, I answer/make a phone call and the voice is so tinny and rattle-y that it hurts when placed on the ear. At first, I was advised by my carrier to change my sim card but that did not solve the issue. The strange thing is that when I play any other sound from that same ear speaker, sound is perfect and clear, no problems at all. This is an issue with calls only, which seems to be resolved when I restart the phone.

I have also done a factory reset for the phone (2 times), and nothing seems to work at all. Do I have a faulty phone, or is this a common thing with other people too? I would appreciate any help, as I am starting to lose hope.
 
I don't own one but my brother got it a few months ago too and so far he hasn't had any issues. I have a Note 5, which is similar hardware besides the screen and S-Pen circuitry, and also no issues.

If it happens only with calls, I'd pin this either on some configuration issue or on the carrier. Are there any voice enhancement options active while in-call? This depends on the carrier, so not all will have those.
 
Thank you for your help. I don't know where to find any voice call configurations in the settings, unlike my previous S5, these configurations seem to have all become automatic (noise cancellation etc.). I don't think this is a carrier issue either, because I tried going back to my S5 and using it for a few days and had no issues at all!!

Problem is, because of the inconsistency of the issue, I have literally been to the Samsung center 3 times where I try to explain the problem and no one seems to understand it (and I can't seem to re enact it for them on the phone since it happens only a few times a day). I am still at square one where I don't even know whether this is a software or hardware issue, and it has been 2 months!
 
Is WiFi calling enabled on this phone? Maybe it's interfering? That's the main difference I can think of between an S5 and this. Or maybe VoLTE?
