terrible hand off from wifi to 3g

Am on a railroad with spotty wifi but good 3g signal, strength on route.
Isn't the 3g supposed to kick in automatically? The wifi drops it's connection. The 3g sign signal is 3 or 4 bars but indicator is grayed out. I have to go into data settings turn in and off to go to 3g. ,, def keep wifi off rest of trip but shouldn't need to

I have been having data problems here in Florida so maybe they are doing something to the network nationwide?

Very strange my g nex can't even hold a wifi connection I've tried messing with the router settings and also using third party apps. I hate it I feel like it's a ploy to make me use more data. :banghead:

Well I should have said when streaming video using the YouTube app ... every other app doesn't wack my wifi up. You Tube has been crazy. But sometimes heavy downloads in the market will knock Wi-Fi out idk???

Over the last few weeks YouTube has been really bad on all of my devices. Everything else streams fine except for YouTube.
