I have my Droid X rooted and i was wondering if i could just connect it with my Droid X and it work for the internet? Please let me know thank you.

That will work. Did it on my rooted evo with the wifi tether app. Im doing it now on my palm pre

I have tether on my Incredible and for some ****ty ass reason the Tab will see every network but my phone.

I just connected my Tmo Tab to my dINC via mobile hotspot without an issue. I am posting this that way. Now if you are talking connection via a usb cable using a third party app, I would not expect that to work.

I just picked up the GalaxyTab and I think I'm going to root my Evo so I can tether because I can already see that wifi only won't be enough.

Don't be afraid to. You will love to. But from what my first round of trying to tether the device, no luck.

Why? I would think since you are rooted it wouldn't be a problem. Is it more complicated than using the wifi tether app?

Dave is right. There is some hackery involved in getting this thing to tether to your phone. Ill be writting a tutorial today hopefully. To get your started...root your tab.

Excellent Dawg, and I will just remind everyone now that Samsung states that if you Root your device or otherwise hack it they will void your warranty. So please be very careful implementing hacks and make system backups etc because you are on your own. No one in any forum will take responsibility if you "brick" your phone.
