tethering with note 3

i have used pdanet and easy tether in the past with my htc hero and my samsung galaxy s2 with no problems. i can't get either to work with my note 3. any help would be appreciated.

Get the wifi hotspot toggle from the play store. Then go into settings and wifi hotspot. Add a password. Then drag the wifi hotspot toggle widget to home screen. Turn it on and when the 'call Verizon bs' comes up just press the home key and you are good to go.

i tried that but still no go. must be a sprint thing. thx for the reply though.
