I'm very tempted to sell my NexusOne and grab a G2. My problem is I read that it does not support Tethering... Is that true?

Yes, I believe that is the case right now... I believe they might allow it later.

Well T-Mobile doesn't endorse it, but a quick root or 3rd party app should allow it right? Not that the G2 can't, just T-Mobile doesn't want you to....

Tethering? Is that considered the same as WiFi Hotspot feature? Really wanting this phone but looking to move up to a phone that has WiFi to power other things when out and about.......

tethering

I've heard that PdaNet is a good option if you want to tether via USB. I used to use PdaNet in the Palm Treo days and it worked pretty well.

There are two forms of tethering:
Wired - USB
Wireless - Wi-Fi, Bluetooth

I think the easiest one of them is Wi-Fi wireless. Literally open the app, turn on the tether, and find the wireless network on the device you are using.

USB tethering tends to require drivers and bluetooth is isn't as fast as Wi-Fi.

If paid tethering isn't an option for the G2, rooting is the other option.
