Text Entry Oddity

TB was working fine until yesterday, the suddenly I find experience erratic / odd behavior with text entry, portrait mode only. I am unable to get some keys on the right section to enter, specifically "m", "k" and "o". If I press these keys nothing is entered. If I scroll across the keyboard slowly (example h->j->k->l) the h, j and l will pop-up but the "k" doesn't.

I have tried multiple soft keyboards, SwiftKey, FlexT9 and the Touch (default) keyboard and experience the same problem. If I put into landscape mode all the keys work, so it's not the keyboard. I also found that when swiping down on the notification bar that the menu display there is erratic as well, it may just bounce and return back or it may fully display, no pattern noted (did not have this problem prior).

The section of the touchscreen is still responsive as I can launch apps which would be in this same general area, haven't noticed any dead areas on the home screen, application screens or setting screens for any apps.

In hopes to solve the problem I've removed all keyboard apps (except for touch input), any recently downloaded apps (including recent updates), rebooted the device and did a battery pull. Still have the problem.

Just noted another erratic behavior item, if I go into Market I can't uninstall an app. When I select "uninstall" I then choose an selection as to why I am uninstalling the app and press OK, the uninstall does not happen. I can only uninstall through settings.

Any other ideas or suggestions on what data or cached info I might try to clear before I do a hard reset on the device?

I did a hard reset, still didn't fix problem. Appears it's a hardware issue - bummer...

Try to pull the battery with the power on and hold the power button while grounded for fifteen second.

I had this problem yesterday, but only with one program (out of 3 or 4) that I uninstalled yesterday. So that must be unrelated to your screen problem--sorry to hear about it.
