Text message and gear s3?

Hi. Trying to find working solution for texting on gear s3. I have a s8 phone. I tried Samsung message and Verizon message+. All have issues. Verizon messages I cannot reply on watch and also, for some reason when I mark message as READ from watch. It unlocks my phone if screen is off.
As for Samsung messages. I cannot mark messages as READ anymore for some reason. Swore it worked before. I factory reset my watch at least 3 times and also factory reset my s8 phone.

Textra works great but when I get alot of group messages with Textra. Textra freezes for 15 minutes without receiving any text.

Anyone got solution. Just wanna just text on my watch.

BT only model. Frontier.

I use Verizon messages and I'm able to reply. I essentially just blocked the Verizon message notification and I still get a regular messaging notification. I have the LTE model so I don't know if that has anything to do with it though.

But if u block notification for Verizon on gear. If u clear the message on watch. Isnt the badge count on phone still there?

Nope, it still works like it should for me. When I dismiss or read a message on the watch, it acts accordingly on the phone. I did it that way because when I used Verizon message, I was getting two notifications. That seemed to fix the problem and allowed me to interact with the notifications like I wanted.

Darn. Mine doesn't work like that. Have no clue why.

ok, same as mine. I have an S7 and I use the stock messaging app on the watch and Verizon Messages app on my phone. I get the full text messages and can read all the messages and reply to them from the watch.
