I can't get rid of the notification bubble in the dock (running Launcher Pro Plus). When I open the messaging app by touching the icon in the dock, there is no new text message there. And once I open the app, when I return to the homescreen, the notification should be gone. This started today while I kept getting the same text message over and over from ESPN Alerts. I turned off those notifications, but I still can't get rid of the little bubble notification on the dock icon saying I have a new text message. Any thoughts/suggestions/help would be greatly appreciated.

Turn off notifications in LPP, then reboot should be gone.

go into the app (settings, applications, all, messaging) and clear the data or the cache. Do the cache first and see if that takes care of it. You can also do that to LPP, but I am not sure what that will do to your settings, so you may want to back up LPP first.

Thanks, I appreciate the suggestions. I actually tried all that, among other things like changing the dock and changing the apps on the dock, rebooted LPP, did a battery pull, etc. and everytime I go back to messaging that notification pops up. Very strange. I'll try again today, maybe I was missing something when I did all that yesterday.

Issue resolved

I finally figured it out, not exactly sure what was going on. It seemed like I had a text message on an infinite loop on my phone, but there was actually no text message, despite the notifications showing up in the dock and notification bar. I cleared the cache and deleted all text message threads, rebooted and all was good.
