Text Message scrolling lag/delay

I'm getting long load times when i try to scroll through all my different text conversations in the stock UI. i seriously have to wait atleast 2-5 seconds every time i scroll down past the first 6 initial conversations.

Also every conversation comes up as just the fone number first and it takes more seconds for it to convert the fone numbers to names.

frankly this makes me hate texting anyone thats not in the first 6 convos listed. i feel like i shouldnt be having this problem with our super fones. does anyone know how i can fix this?

I know it sucks that you can't just use the stock one...but I love handcent sms. I'm sure a lot of others will agree.

how do i use handcent and disable all of the associations to the stock txt app?

just install handcent

in the stock app's settings turn off notifications, then unless you open the stock app, it's like its not there anymore.
