Hi

My friend sent me a text message with a Dodgy website and thumbnail. When I asked him why he sent it to me he said apparently I sent it to him. It's not on my text messages and I wouldn't go on that site. Also done a virus scan by malwarebytes nothing. Also at the moment no one else has said they received anything. Any ideas

Best to delete both sides of the messages and keep an eye out

Welcome to Android Central! How good a friend is this if you don't trust him? Can you ask him to send you a screenshot of the message he supposedly got from your number?

So what would you say in your honest opinion. Do I need to be worried. It's strange as I only texted him about work and called him about work. People I talk to alot more didn't get anything

Oh wait, I was re-reading your post. So are you saying your friend contacted you, thinking that you had texted him that message? I suppose it's possible someone could be spoofing your number. Did he actually show you a screenshot of the incoming text that shows your number as the sender?

No didn't send any proof and when I asked him he apparently deleted it while I was on the phone with him.

Also when I mentioned it to him when I saw him. He didn't say anything.

It's very difficult to say anything about this, considering the source (your friend) seems completely unreliable.

Could I just ask surely other people I talk to more would of got something and even my bosses haven't got anything. Would you say at the moment I don't need to worry about it. Btw my malwarebytes has come back clean again.

Ok thanks for your help. So must likely be sent it to me and didn't want to admit it when I call him out for it. Can I just ask one last thing would other people have got it if it did actually come from my phone. Btw I don't go on anything unsafe or download non gen apps

If other people you knew got the same junk message, I would imagine they would reach out to you about it. So no, I doubt anyone else got it.
