Text messages broken up into multiple messages

I'm curious if anyone is experiencing this. I have an s6 on AT&T , my mom has an s5 on Verizon. When her text messages come through, they are broken up into multiple messages and completely out of order (see photo). I've read a few places that it's possibly a Verizon issue. Can anyone confirm if it is a Verizon issue? If so, is there a fix? Her messages are the only ones that come through like that and my wife receives them the same way. Moderators, if this belongs in a different thread, please advise

Is MMS active on both phones?

I see similar behavior from time to time when a friend w/ATT iPhone texts. Not always and no one else, but ATT to Verizon.

Yep, I've been reading around. Seems to be isolated to Verizon and AT&T not on the same network type.
