Text Messaging Issues

As of a few days ago, my mom's Samsung Galaxy S4 running Android 4.4.4 on T-Mobile has developed problems with sending and receiving text messages. When attempting to send a message, the text will remain in the thread with the loading wheel spinning under it. After an hour or two, the message will eventually go through. Similarly, if I try to text her, the message shows as sent from my phone but does not appear on her phone for an hour or two. Has anyone encountered this before? Can anyone help?

That could be a TMobile issue. Try a TMobile company store (the stores that are independent associates usually don't have much in the way of a tech department - they're just for sales.)

Uninstalling Facebook Messenger did the trick.
