Text notification sound

The sound stopped working suddenly, although the light still blinks and the vibration works. Tried to change the type of sound to no avail. Any suggestions?

Check all your volumes and make sure no "quiet modes" are active.

This is still an issue that Motorola hasn't fixed? Come on! Turn the phone off and back on. If that fails than I remember at least back when I had the device a year ago I had to do a factory reset.
