Text time stamp

Does anyone know how to make the standard text app on the epic reflect the time on the phone rather than the time from the network? I am in a sketchy service area some of the time and for some reason the time stamp will vary by an hour or two. Any help or info would be appreciated. Apps, settings, etc.....

Go into device Settings/Date and time and disable Automatic for network provided values, and select and set your time zone. That should work for you....
