Text-to-Voice over Bluetooth Help for HTC One on AT&T

I just purchased the HTC One after several years with both iPhones and Windows Phones, and can't seem to get text messages read to me when I'm driving in my car - or reply by voice and have that translated to text over my car microphone. This basic function worked seamlessly with both my iPhone and my Windows phone. The AT&T sales person gave me the phone number for the HTC sales person in our area, and he in turn texted me that AT&T disables the Android "Car" app on the HTC One so users will opt for one of the AT&T apps which perform a similar text-to-voice and voice-to-text function. I tried to find the Android "Car" app so I could manually download it, but no luck. Unfortunately, I can't get any of the many AT&T apps preloaded on my HTC One to do this. I can converse on phone calls via Bluetooth in my car, but I just can't get text messages to convert to voice and hear them through my car's Bluetooth system. The car is a 2013 Infiniti, so I don't think that's the issue. Would appreciate any help/guidance folks care to share. Thanks!

I'm using the Dragon Assistant app which should allow for the reading aloud of incoming texts. On my One, however, I just get a popup (from Dragon) with the text - I don't know if it's reading the text out from the internal speakers and not muting my A2DP stream. I could have the app configured wrong. But Dragon Assistant claims to be able to do what you want.

I'm having the same issue with my HTC One with my 2013 Ford Sync BT system. It worked fine with my prior phone (Motorola Atrix) where incoming text messages were read to me. Now, when I get an incoming text message while driving, I get a beep notification on the phone but no notification on the car BT system. When I try to send a text from the car I get a message "text messages not supported by this device". Has anyone had any success getting their HTC One to read text messages from their car BT system?
