Text with symbols irritation

This is annoying. When I am sending a text message and I want to insert a $ after a word, which I do quite often, I hit the space bar, the symbol key, then push the $. The problem is it puts the $ at the end of the last word.

The price is$

rather than

The price is $40

Someone please tell me there is a way to fix this?

Same with @ and &, etc. Have to go back and insert the space again, which is a PITA.

Holy **** I am so glad other people are being pissed off by this too.
A more common problem I think would be when trying to use " for quotes..

Instead of typing:

And then she was like "Well I'll see what we can do."
It types:
And then she was like"Well I'll see what we can do."

No matter if I put a space there or not.

Is this only on the stock Motorola keyboard? I know swype doesn't do it because it auto-spaces everything, I believe.

I was waiting to see if anyone would say anything about this. I was close to posting about this terribly irritating issue myself. :-\

I guess only a few people are annoyed to hell by this...probably what's happening is the majority of people aren't using the stock Motorola multi-touch keyboard lol. Most people either use swype or download another 3rd party keyboard.

Looks like I need to re-try getting used to swype again. Otherwise this bug in the motorola keyboard is going to drive me up the wall soon.
